School rant
With Fall comes school and with our current economic state college seems to be going down the toilet. I am fortunate that I got all the classes I needed, but I can not say the same for the rest. This whole ordeal make me angry and not a lot of things do that.
First they cut classes, I’m ok with that as long as they leave enough sections of the class for the students who need it.
They raise the tuition during summer after everyone has registered for the classes and as paid for at least part of their classes. That’s messed up, if you are going to raise the tuition the students should at least be notified the semester before hand, so at least they know what they will be getting themselves into. Plus the students who are already able to pay for their classes are now completely able to do so.
On top of it all the faculty is doing mandatory furlough days, where the teachers have to take 9 mandatory days off! The faculty is unable to teach, check emails, grade or do anything having to do with school or students on those days, plus a 10% pay cut.
Looking up furlough you get:

such is life, i was already on the 7 year college plan…none of these changes affect me too much >.<
Yep, I think I’m also going to be on that 7 year plan with the rate things are going. I don’t want to owe any money at all for school, so I’m just taking what I can afford, when I can.
Things like this make debt impossible to avoid. Poor teachers, though. I think they deserve better.
It’s either this or they start shutting down campuses, and I’d rather have this than the latter. The CSU are a state run system and as the state has no money at this moment we’re on our own.
I just hope it doesn’t come to the point of shutting down campuses (Stanislaus being the first to go as the rumors say) because the accreditation of the school is gone and anyone having a degree from there is carrying a worthless piece of paper. Plus, students currently attended just wasted years of their life with nothing to show for it.
